The radiator fan is not working. I looked at the fuse box under the hood of my 2001 kia sephia and I just found the fuse to be a grey box. I am not sure how to tell if the fuse is good or not. Also, what else may be the problem if it is not the fuse? I need to get the car to the mechanic for the cv joint but first I have to fix the fan problem. Thanks in advance.

SOURCE: Have a 2001 Buick LeSabre.

Rasie vehicle, remove tire, axle nut and caliper. remove tie rod end from spindle, remove lower ball joint nut and seperate from spindle and pull spindle from axle, with pry bar pop axle out of trans housing. it is easyer to replace cvc axle than to replace or repair cvc joint.

SOURCE: HOW DO I REPLACE THE INNER CV JOINT BOOT ON A 2001 BUICK CENTUR

I would recommend that you replace the complete axles instead of just the boots. The boots may be busted/worn and when the get torn/busted they allow sand/dirt inside the CV joint and the bearing inside the CV joint become worn, it all depends on how long the boot has been ripped, its easier and a lot less messy to R/I new axle. For the wheel bearings they need to be pressed in by a hydraulic press. As far as the procedure goes you have to elevate the two front wheels and secure by a lift of jack stands, then take off tires and take off brakes/caliper and caliper chair along with the rotors. You have to remove center nut on axles and remove lower ball joint from knuckle assemble/ hub. Then remove bolts holding knuckle/hub to the struts. Pull knuckle from axles and the hub is out. If you don't have a press and the proper tool you can take the two hubs and the bearings to a machine shop and they will press out and pressing new bearing for you. As for the axles they both can then be pulled/pryed out of the transmission at this time and be fixed or replaced. caution look out for leaking transmission fluid when you pull axles out. The axles are only held by licking rings and can be easily pulled or pryed out. Have something ready to catch fluid. Replace axles in the reverse of taking out. use a piece of wood on the end of axle if there is need to tap it back in with a hammer, listen for a click or snap when its goes back in to transmission. Good Luck

2001 Kia Sephia, electrical problem..

The fuse box may have gone bad and your getting electrical shorting. Check the fuse box under the hood that may have gone bad and may need to be replaced, look for corrosion where the fuse goes into and the wire harness. Don't know if you had your car since new, but there are a lot of cars from the Katrina Hurricane that was under water and the electrical system have major corrosion that should just be showing up now. Good luck and keep me posted

No air kia sephia

I had the same problem, started about 150K miles. It had nothing to do with the fan motor or the switch. my problem was under the fuse box. it was shorting out and i couldn't figure out how to get the wire out or wedge it in to where it would hold, so i got an external inline fuse and bypassed fuse box. when doing that it bypassed the relay as well. by hey, the fan blower works now.
