Be careful. You do not want the air bag to deploy on you suddenly. Check the air bag fuse on the vehical, it may need to be replaced. If your air bags have been deployed recently, the lights do not turn off until the dealer turns them off for you.
Either the bags are leaking real badly or the compressor is out. Either way you're looking at 600-800 dollars. Ther is a 250 dollar alternative. At parts store you can order a steel spring set to replace the bags. The ride is not much different and it's easy enough to do in your driveway.
take it to another dealer, in most cases its just a poor connection, poor contact in one of the pin connectors, air bag wiring is very sensative, one poor pin connection does not allways mean that the harness needs to be replaced, it sounds like they dont want to take the time to pinpoint the problem.
Air bag light on ? Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's in the air bag control module . That's the way to find out what the problem is . Suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop.
The horn switch and air bag module is all one unit, which the steering wheel needs to be pulled. I encountered this problem, and the whole unit needed to be replaced, just for the darn horn, the air bag was good, and you can only get the part at a dealer, the dealer told me about $800.00, and that doesn't include the labor.Needless to say that person declined the job.
Another stupid way these chrysler engineers designed these vans.
air bag sensor wires have detached inside the column this is a dealer fix problem cause they might have to replace air bag this is not something a normal consumer can do on own
