A lot of auto parts come in the form of a filter which is designed to remove impurities and foreign objects from a stream of gas or liquid. A typical car employs an oil filter, a transmission filter, a fuel filter, and an air filter. However, there is yet another type of filter which is least common to car owners. The cabin air filter, also referred to as the passenger compartment filter, the pollen filter, the dust filter, or the interior ventilation filter is inherent in vehicles manufactured in the 80s. More and more vehicles are now equipped with cabin air filters, but what exactly is a cabin air filter? The cabin air filter is tasked to eliminate almost all of the airborne elements that come with the air that enters the passenger compartment. It is guaranteed to enhance the quality of the air that goes around the passengers area. The cabin air filter is attached under the dashboard, behind the glove compartment or in the engine chamber. Your factory cabin air filter may be worn and torn with use and time, which is why an aftermarket ChevyTranny Filter - mag-glass_10x10.gif cabin air filter replacement is manufactured. The Chevy cabin air filter replacement is designed to ideally replace your factory cabin air filter which is created to top the performance of your old one. The Chevy cabin air filter replacement is ideal to use because it helps purify the air and remove particles that might cause the passengers allergic reactions. It is highly beneficial not only to the car occupants, but also of the car driver so that he will not get distracted from controlling the maneuvers of the vehicle operation.

If you need to change the filter(it's serviced for life)and fluid. the filter is in the middle of the transmission. to remove the filter you have to take the transmission apart.

SOURCE: where and how to change cabin filter chevy equinox

cabin air filter is in the airbox behind the glove compartment,
unclip the glovebox, look behind it for a small access door, undo the latches, and voila! theres your cabin air filter! (if equipped, some model equinoxes dont have it!)

I have a 2007 chevy equinox why is my jerking the mileage is 98000

Sounds like locking torque converter is getting intermittent signals from transmission control module. Likely not a dirty filter or general transmission issue unless abused by [prior] owner.

How can I replace transmission (fluid) filter?

the vehicle MAY NOT even have a filter, many small auto transmissions don't. First ensure that it does have one, and purchase a filter kit, they generally come with instructions, if it doesn't, go to the local auto parts store and get the manual for your car, it will have the info in it.
If the tranny doesn't have a filter, get the manual right off, and follow the instructions on transmission fluid replacement. You may have to replace the pan gasket due to the age.

Where is the transmission Fill plug on a 2005 chevy equinox?

There is no fill plug on transmission pans, you have to fill them from the
dipstick tube in the engine bay. Get a long funnel that will fit into the
dipstick tube hole, and then fill it that way. Make sure you turn the
vehicle on while filling it, and put it through all the gears, with your foot
on the brake. This will make sure your torque convertor is being properly
filled, along with the trans. Good luck.

Need the location of the transmission drain plug, on a 2006 chevy equinox.

If it is a stickshift (would have been good to specify something that important), look in the lowest point of the tranny.
If an automatic, there often is none because they want you to remove the pan so you can change or clean the filter too while you are at it.
