Where is the fuel pump relay located for a 2004 diesel x-type - which one is it in the bonnet with all the others?
You mean the magic multipurpose relay or the multifunction magic realy ,diesel jaguar now that is sacriledge to us purists ,its a mondeo that changed shape .Anyway not sure which relay it is off hand but please describe the fault a bit more becuase as its a "jaguar" then the electrics are lucas and only good components are used not made in china .So if i knew a bit more of the problem i might be able to diagnose the fault a lot better
Well first before i worry about sounding like an american with their magic relay ,i would check out a few other things ,firstly their is no fuel pump ---its incorperated into the high pressure common rail injector pump ,and is manual .Right now as its a diesel common rail then its all electronic controlled and operated ,so if it stopped whilst driving then it could be one thing ,or if you stopped the engine and now it will not start then its something else ,Still raining outside so iam staying here in the warm ,so if your quick i will answer now if not tomorrow,
right well i dont think its the pump ,because if you hand prime it then it will start and run for a while and then stop .Its just not starting ,so iam a bit ---well thinking here ---with er indoors nagging as well -Now stopped whilst running ,i would be inclined to check the sensor on the flywheel for the computer,if thats ok then one of the injectors has a special circuit that calculates for the other cylinders to fire .Or the old favoutite the immobilisor
Now if it isn the immobilisor then it could be the key reader reciever behind the ignition key under the plastic shroud .try the spare key first

Hi, Thanks.
I did have a mondeo before this one.
The car just stopped while driving the other day, not started since, the fuel can be manually primered up the pipe, but not coming up otherwise. no noise coming from the fuel pump. wanted to check the fuses / relays 1st.
If there are any other solutions i would gladly listen.
Thanks
Dave
it stopped whilst driving, just cut-out and wouldn'r restart.
i thought (read somewhere else) that the fuel pump was in the tank
