Hello. A common mistakes when doing repairs to the cooling system is not correctly bleeding all air out of the system, which in turn will still cause your vehicle to overheat.
1.Make sure cooling system is purged of all air.
2.check all hoses for holes (assuming you didn't use new hose.
This sounds to me like the cooling system has an airlock OR the 'stat has been put in backwards. Try running the engine for a short while with the rad cap tightened down to the first stop only and see if that allows the airlock condition to be alleviated.
First of all make sure you bleed all the air out properly , air locks can cause the cooling fan not to work . Is the cooling fan working? If all this is ok does the whole system get hot like the radiator and interia heater if not id be looking at the waterpump
1995 Isuzu Rodeo is equipped with a belt driven fan with a viscous fan clutch for engine cooling. The electric fan is for A/C condensor cooling only. The condensor fan is switched on and off by the A/C fan relay, which is operated by the triple pressure switch located in the A/C line on the left side of the engine compartment.
DO NOT attempt to replace the triple pressure switch without first using the proper equipment to evacuate and recover the freon in the A/C system. The A/C system is under high pressure and attempts to replace parts without discharging the system can result in serious injury.
you should get a head gasket test done on the car as it will detect if there is any combustions chamber gas in the coolant.also check to make sure the cooling fan is operating properly as if its not can cause an overheating condition.
if its white smoke coming out the tail pipe then its burning coolant.possible head gasket.cracked cylinder head, cracked block,it will have to be block tested to see if combustion chamber gases are in the cooling system.
If you do in fact have compression (air) blowing in to the cooling systems this would show either a blown head gasket, warped head or cracked head. Please od not run the Rodeo until repaired as if coolant is getting in to the cylinder or oil (Your oil will look like chocolate shake) it can do severe damage. What motor please 3.0 V6?
THanks,
Tom
