SOURCE: 1999 Saab 900 radio reset code

whenever the battery is removed (or car experiences any loss of power) you must type in security code for  radio (this is the case with BMWs and Volvos as well).  Go to any saab dealership and they can remove the radio and get your radio's 4 digit code, they all have one.  Yes, I have done this before ` they didn't charge me and I was in and out in ten minutes.

SOURCE: washer fuse blowing

OK guys. How cold is it where you are, and do you have
1. headlight washers as well
2. The right mix of screenwash/ water for your system

If not, check that you washer bottle has not frozen, blocking the pump and causing a system overload.
Also, check that the headlight washers (if they pop up from the bumper) are not frozen to the bumper body (it doesn't take much - try warming them with a hairdryer).

SOURCE: Radio code for 1997 saab 900s

I'm afraid if you don't have the code, you will have to take it to a local dealer or specialist radio store to have it re-coded.

Fortunately, it's not expensive.

SOURCE: how to relace clutch cable on 1995 saab se 900 turboon saab 900se

1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the clutch cable end from the clutch arm end at the wire stop.
3. Slide out the rubber doughnut from the gearbox housing which holds the clutch cable
4. Move the distribution box nut and the alarm pin attached to it (some modules)
5. Disconnect the clutch cable holder from the fender and the data link holder.
6. Remove the drivers lower panel below the steering wheel and remove the air duct as well as the knee shield.
7. Slide out the fuse box holder and ICE Box (should be a black box with many wires going to it). You can remove the instrument cluster at this point but you can also do this without removing the cluster with a little patience
8. Move the pedal spring to one side and remove the eye catch for the cable.
9. Remove the clutch cable by pulling it out from the engine compartment
10. Reinstall in the reverse. Saab actually came out with a bulletin which Needed one to install two washers at the back of the new cable instead of one. The factory cable comes with one but you can remove the 2nd washer off the old cable and install it on the new cable so two exist. This helps take up excessive pedal slack.

When I switch on the radio?cd player in my Saab 900 the screen says "Code 1". What do I do to fix this ?

could be the anti-theft device in the radio. it requires you to put the 4 digit code in to "unlock" the radio for use. This number should have been given to you by the seller -otherwise can be obtained by a previous SAAB dealer. This can happen when the battery is disconnected for a period of time

I have a 1992 Saab 900 Turbo. It has the Tape deck/radio up top and down near the shifter it has the seperate clarion cd player. All stock. The radio works, but it looks like no power is going to cd...

Many of those radios had a secret code which could only be had thru the dealership. So- you had to take it to the dealer who pulled the radio and got one number then that would get you the secret code which you then wrote on the housing of the radio so you don't have to go thru this. Good luck with that.I just love classic foreign cars.

Or you could have a blown fuse. Under the hood drivers side.

Need radio code for a 1998 saab 900

The codes are not for the Saab but for the radio.
You need to take the radio to a dealer of that brand of radio. There is not just one brand that can be installed by Saab. a Saab dealer can help, but none of us can, because each radio has its own code. But a dealer has the tools to reset it.

Cannot unlock the radio on my SAAB 9000 CDE

I have a Saab 900 -97 with a similar problem. I just solved it yesterday on my car. Hold the Band button in for like 10-15 sec when you see "Code In", It clears the error log in the radio. If it doen´t work, enter a wrong code so the code hangs on the display and then press the band button to clear the error log. It worked on my car, good luck!

Saab 900 radio code

If your radio beeps and will not turn on, such as after battery power has been disconnected, then you must enter a security code to restore its function. The car should have come with a "special card" listing the radio's code and instructions on how to restore operation, but it is common for people to buy used Saabs without getting the radio code. If you can't find the card, start with the simple stuff. Look through the owners manuals and see if it has been written in. Try any 4 or 6 digit codes that you see. To enter a code, you must turn the radio on so it beeps and hold down the DNR button (-94 models) while entering the 6 digit code. For '88- 9000 radios, turn on the radio, press the band button, and then type in the 4 digit code. The procedure for other radios may be slightly different. If you don't find the code in the owner's manuals, remove the radio from the dash using the two little prongs. With the radio out, check the outside of it for possible codes, and try any you find - you might get lucky. Write down the serial number and your car's VIN number. Call up a local Saab dealer and tell them that you need your security code. They will run a check to make sure your car or radio hasn't been stolen. If everything is OK, they will contact you with the code.Here the links of there site;
http://www.saabcentral.com/index.htm

If the wrong code was entered, press and hold the "band" button until the word "code" appears then enter the correct code. (this is for the classic 900 clarion radio).
If you can remove the radio from the dash . Pop the radio out and the correct code will sometimes be written on the top or in the back of the radio.

Saab 900 radio code

Pull the radio using the tools or bend 2 pieces of coathanger to fit the holes - push the coathanger about 2-3" in and press outwards, pull the radio out enough to read the serial number.

Have the serial number and VIN number handy and call a Saab dealer. A kind one will give you the 4-digit code over the phone. The worst dealer will charge a minimum $ to have you come in and prove ownership. My dealer, in Scottsdale AZ, did it free for me, and if the serial matches the VIN in theri database, you should be ok. This is a case where a polite, respectful request will get you service and a favor sometimes. You may also call around to other Saab dealers and find one that is helpful. Remember them when you need real service. And maybe, if they charge, go have an oil change done and ask if they would give you the code while you wait. They love that, and often will give the care a once-over and tell you what they see that needs service. Cheap diagnostics. Good Luck!
