On my 2003 Jeep, there is a button on one of the two round plastic bases in the top of the seat. The button is actually molded the shape of the base. Depress it while pulling the headrest upwards.

How can you remove the headrest from 2014 jeep compass 4x4. Thank yiu.

Raise the headrest up all the way as high as it goes. There are plastic pieces on the seat where the headrest supports go into the seat and one of them has a small hole in it. If you get a paperclip and push it into the hole, the headrest will pull up and off.

How to fold down rear seat on Porsche Cayenne

Remove headrest, there is a small button on the base of the headrest mount you need to push in. Next pull up the strap at the front of the seat cushion bottom, then flip forward. Press in the flipper on the top of the seat back and pull forward.

My Kid put in the headrest backwards in a 2011 Highlander, how do I remove it?

There is usually a "button" on the side of the headrest support... the rectangular plastic piece at the top of the seat where the headrest bars go into the seat itself. Hold that while pulling the headrest out.

How do I adjust the front headrest on my 2009 Lincoln MKS so that they do not tilt so far forward?

I turned my headrests backward. Worked great. In fact, I wonder if the engineers designed them that way but the production guys build them backward???
1) Tilt the seat way back to allow room to remove headrests, 2) Press and hold both headrest release tabs at the same time and have someone else pull out the headrest completely, 3) turn the headrests backward and insert into the two headrest guide slots (headrests fit the same either way). 4) No more pain in the neck !!!
Caution: I do not know what this does for whiplash injury protection but it seems OK for my own comfort with the solution. And it beats the pain in the neck caused by the bass-akwards design.

Im trying to get the headrests out to install a seat cover on an F-150 with bench seats

On my F150 (2002 model), there is only one release button. My daughter had removed the headrest, and put it on backwards. It was locked in place, so I couldn't get it off until I noticed a little pinhole on the opposite side of the side with the release button. I inserted a paperclip into the pinhole, and it released the locking mechanism on that side so that the headrest could pop right off.

I need to remove my headrest to change my seatbelt guide ; i can t get headrest to come off. Thank you

Pull the seat fabric down in front to expose the plastic piece that the headrest bar inserts through. You will see a small wire clip inserted through plastic. Remove it by prying with small flat head screwdriver. Repeat on other side. Headrest will then slide out.

I NEED TO REMOVE THE FRONT SEAT HEADRESTS FROM A 2004 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE.

Lift the headrest to it highest postion. Insert a thin stick parallel to the head rest bar (the side facing the rear of the vechicle) I used a thin paint stirring stick, a Slim Jim is ideal.
Once the stick is inserted (10" give or take) push the head rest down holding the stick steady, then pull the headrest back up and it will come off the seat.
Hope this helps.

Removal of headrest on 2005 Ford F150.

The headrest has on obvious button to adjust the height and another button kinda hidden to remove the headrest. The black plastic ring at the base where the metal poles insert into the seat is where the two buttons. You probably noticed the obvious on that sticks out of the side of one of the rings. The other plastic ring contains a similar button that is not noticeable due to it being flush with the side of the plastic ring. Adjust the headrest to its highest position, then locate the "hidden" button on the other plastic ring and depress it while lifting on the headrest and it should come out.
