To get to know about the displacement look at the engine codes which are printed along the engine number on the cylinder block, mostly seen from standing in front of the car with the hood opened. Some of the codes are described as under:

Use a cylinder leak down test. obviously a blown head gasket or valve intake or exhaust, just dont throw a cylinder head on it, especially #2. Why because the cause is a partial EGR system. When the system gets plugged the temperature of the cylinder head reaches it maximum. There it causes and advance and precombust on that cylinder head and BAM it goes either you have a hole in the block, or hole in the piston or kinder yet a burnt exhaust or burn intake. Heres the fix remove the cylinder head there you can inspect for damaged intake or exhaust valves clean it and look closely you will see crack, Then look at the piston carefully make sure there is not pits(small holes)

po171 is lean on bank 1--===causes --MAF/VAF sensors --injectors ---HO2S (heated oxygen sensor)
po300 is random misfires and po301, 2, 3 4 5 6 etc is the cylinder that is misfiring
most likely that the fuel pressure is below the required pressure either from the pump or blocked filter or the tank not venting properly--- (EVAP) problem
check the fuel pressure ( minimum of 45-65psi) --problem pressure regulator , pump or filter
replace the heated oxygen sensor on bank 1 ( in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter) as it reports to the ECM to get the correct air/fuel mix

Have the vehicle scanned for codes and do the repairs the codes reflect.
If there are no codes found then have a cylinder leakage test performed this way the techn. can determine if there are any vacuum leaks that are causing the miss.
If this turns out to be a-ok then the techn has to do a Injector balance test. might be an injector thats giving you a headache.

Check the master cylinder for oil. If oil got into the system then all the rubber parts have expanded and caused this condition. The other cause is that something is blocking the compensation vent hole inside the master cylinder. This hole allows for heated brake fluid to expand.

p0171 is lean condition bank one. you could have a vacuum leak a bad map sensor bad maf sensor clogged fuel filter low fuel pressure. start with the vacuum leak first.

Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust).

the clutch is worn out and will require replacing
