Hi:
You could have a problem with your pressure plate, but you need to check out your clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder too. Check the clutch master cylinder fluid reservoir, and make sure it is full. It is located on the back wall of the engine compartment, approx right in front of your clutch pedal. If it is low, or you notice any fluid leakage, you need to address what caused that. You can bleed the system too, but that won't repair the problem.

The clutch pedal of my Toyota Hilux kzte 2004 does not want to release on its own.

I assume that means that the clutch does not engage/disengage when you press and release the pedal. There are a number of possible issues here. First, does the pedal feel "soft"? Is it easier to press down that usual? If so, the problem may likely be in the hydraulics of the clutch. A bad master or slave cylinder will not allow hydraulic pressure necessary to engage/disengage the clutch.
If the pedal feels normal, then the problem is most likely internal to the clutch mechanism. A bad release bearing or a stripped clutch disc are the most likely culprits for this issue.

My clutch won't engage 1997 Honda civic

Clutch plate and pressure plate seem to be too weak to pull the car. To test the clutch plate, park the car on flat surface. Pull the hand brake up, start the car, depress the foot brake pedal, depress the clutch pedal, put the car in 1st gear, press the gas pedal and leave the clutch pedal at once, while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
Follow one of the two following statements:
1. Engine does not shut down and remain start. (Clutch plate, pressure plate and clutch bearing defective - Replace all as a set)
2. Engine shuts down. (Clutch system is OK and does not require any repair).

Clutch stays down, has about half an inch of play below carpet level, still able to shift but have to use toe of shoe to pull pedal up. happens two or 3x a day

you have 4 cyl or V6 engine, how much free play you have on clutch pedal (take your hand press clutch in untill gets harder to push in) should only have about 1" free play, and also when you release clutch while in gear should start engaging about 1 1/2" up when releasing

Put in gear clutch feels good does not move like it's suppose 2 it's a stickshift

How is it suppose to ? What is 2 ?Does the clutch engages right away when you release the pedal or almost at the end (pedal up), did you check the freeplay on the pedal ? Should have free play, push clutch pedal by hand and you should move it a half inch before feeling resistance.

Clutch problem

check the fluid level first, if its empty this will happen, if so full it and bleed the clutch, if not it could be the slave cylinder and failing both, it could be the clutch itself, easiest way to check is to see on the gearbox if the clutch is engaging when you press the pedal down.
just ask if you need more help
