2006 focus ABS and Traction control lights came on

I went to pull out of a side street and my tires spun in the slush/snow. then when my ABS and traction control light came on and did not go off. I parked the car and tried restarting with no change. checked for excessive snow build up around the wheels and nothing. Never had problems before with Traction control or ABS. Had already been driving for 30 minutes with lots of times having traction control kick in. Any idea why it suddenly came on?

Abs and traction control off lights on after new tires installed on buick lesabre 2003

if you have a code reader available, reset trouble codes,if that doesn't work you probably need to have it checked out.they may have dis lodged a sensor when they changed the tires.unless you radically changed tire size it shouldn't be the tires

ABS light is constantly on this happened after I went through some snow I had also the (((!))) sign flashing, but now it is gone Golf 4, 1.4 16V 1999 Please advise. Thank you so much

that sign is your traction controll kicking in trying to keep the car under controll by applying the brakes to the tire that is spinning it can engage the ABS too your ABS controller is more than likely damaged and needs replaced it is a common problem with VW ABS systems.

2006 Subaru ABS light and check engine light on, snowy conditions

An addition to my previous post (after talking to my husband more). Three of our wheels were snow packed. Not the wheel wells, but the inside of the wheels. He thinks that this is what caused the problem. The ABS sensors are located there. Having them encased in snow was likely what caused this condition. Solution = clean all the snow off your tires -- and the problem should go away. Sounds like the problem is moisture gets into the ABS sensor or something shorts out with the communications to those sensors.
