Manual for time belt replacemant Isuzu Trooper 1999, 3l disel engine

4JX1 diesel engine has a belt . 4JGE is a different engine completely. To change it set #1 on tdc fireing stroke using the mark on the back lip of the crank pulley (sit it at 12'oclock) and see the mark on the camshaft bearing matches the notch on the pulley .Ignore the marks on the lower belt pulley.
Tensioner and cover removal/replacement is standard and the chnage period is 60,000 miles.

Assuming yours is the 4cyl(engine code 4JGE or 4JX1), it has no timing belt. Cam and ignition timing is by way of gears. No belt to replace.
