Most likely one of the things that the belt drives is frozen. Check that your water pump, power steering pump, alternator, etc all turn without the belt.
change the idler pulley . its held on by a bolt in the center of the pulley. the bearings are sealed so you can't grease them. but first you have to take the tension off the serpintine belt. that is also another pulley located below the idler.don't know what size bolt on a ford but use a long wrench grab the bolt on the tensioner push to the right like you were tightening it. that will release the tension on the belt. don't take the belt all the way off just off the idler pulley. change the pulley and do tha same to reinstall the serpintine belt. if the belt comes all thr way off under the hood or on the front around the top of the radiator there will be a schematic that shows you how the belt should go around everything. let me know what happens. sometimes the tensioner pulley will grind also so be sure your changing the right pulley
very easy take a 5/8 socket on rachet on the furthest left pulley. Then pull rachet to driver side the pully wil move enough to remove belt make sure to keep tension on rachet and pulley while remon=ving belt. ther should be a belt schematic on to of radiator shroun for re install
Call chevy parts department with vin # and they can give the schematics of the belt but their should be a label inside of the hood or radiator support showing you where it needs to go. Please rate my response than you very much
