Transmission should have been service at 45,000 miles then every 60,000 miles after that. This will ensure a long lasting transmission, if you like you can also have your boost valve replaced too. The boost valve regulates the transmission fluid pressure to ensure there is no clutch slipping through out the shift points, which promotes longer life. Transmission shop's know this, so this is one of the things they do not recommend to do as for the transmission will out last the engine. I have over 385,000 miles on my transmission and replace the boost valve every second transmission service, the cost of the new valve is around $45.00 which is worth the life of the transmission. Good luck

Only air coming out when bleeding a 2006 chevrolet cobalt ls.

Need to know what was done to need to bleed the brakes. Easiest way to bleed a brake system is the gravity bleed. Crack open all 4 bleeder screws a little, open your cap on the master cylinder, and wait. Make sure to keep plenty fluid in the master cylinder while doing this. After about 30 min or so you should have pure brake fluid coming out of all 4 bleeder screws. If you have one that does not have fluid coming out, tighten the others and open the one up more until fluid comes out. After all four wheels have fluid it is still a good idea to have a buddy help you bleed them once the old fashion way by pumping up the brakes, hold the pedal and crack open each beeder one at a time.

2006 Cobalt LS Coupe Intermittent Starting Problem

sounds about right, probably is ignition switch, reason you don't get codes is because if power is'nt connecting to engine while problems occurs then ecm won't pick it up. you should have 2 ignition switches, (the lock cylinder and key switch, the other is the electrical, usually located under the dash, and commonly atttatched to the column close to the firewall, check connections first, it may just be a loose plug in connection

I've had my 2006 chevy cobalt LS since 2007 and has never had the transmission flushed.when and or should it ever be flushed?

Every vehicle should have the automatic trans fluid changes at 30,000 miles and never go over
3 years, even if the milage is less.
Also,do the power steering at the same time.

Periodically inspect belts and hoses for cracking, dry rot, and wear. I would also recommend that you do a transmission service, about every 50000 miles. This would include changing out the transmission fluid and cleaning the screen. You have a great car...nice and dependable. You are also wise to keep it properly serviced. Good Luck with your car for a long life...if you continue to care for it, you should have many more years and miles of great service. I hope you find these tips to be very helpful!
