Broken pigtail on back of odometer

Recently replaced my wifes blend door actuator on an 03 explorer, busted one of the pigtails on back of odometer...not sure looked like 20 or so wires on it. largest one on passenger side of odometer. anyone know where I can get another pigtail so i can do a wire swap? is it very hard to splice a new one in? is boneyard my only choice for this item? i talked to a few dealers and said they would have to replace whole harness...wasnt trying to go through all of that.

Yes unfortunately the boneyard will be your only option and they will most likely charge you for the whole harness as well unless they have a damaged harness with a good pigtail you might get lucky, as for spliceing it in, a huge job to do it right. With that many connections you will probably want to splice the wires in different locations say 1/2 inch apart from each other because what you are suggesting is a huge amount of solder and shrink tube or crimp connections (don't recommend) which will take up a lot of space. I really suggest you try and change the harness as it will be extremly frustrating, splicing that many connections in the car and I am not insulting your workmanship but it probably won't last.

Air blend actuator 2000 ford explorer is not working?

First, insure you do not have a vacuum leak or bad vacuum check valve. If this is all good, you may have to change actuator and every model has a different way to access this--some require dash removal. If you must do this, get a shop manual as the air bags CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!

2004 ford explorer heat on all the time

the problem with these and many other Ford truck products is the blend door gets stuck or the actuator craps out. Unfortunately, you do have to take the dash apart in order to replace either. If you can get to the blend door and see if it will move by hand (after disconnecting it from the actuator), this will tell you if the problem is a jammed blend door or a broken actuator.

We replaced the blend door actuator and heat control switch on a 2005 ford explorer now we get heat when you swith the contro from one side to the other then theres a loud boom like the blend door is

You should have replaced the blend door as well, they have an issue with warping and the noise is the door being broken free by the actuator, which will shortly fail working this hard to move the warped door. Have you ever heard of a kit to do this without removing the dash called "Heater Treater", google it.

When i turn the heat on it makes a clicking sound, and it blows out cold air, but when i turn cold temp on the clicking sound stops, until heat temp is turned back on. please tell me how to fix this...

Your ac blend door is broken or the actuator that opens and closes the door is broken. The ac blend door moves up and down to direct air flow through the heater core(for heating) or evaporator core(for cooling).

When the door mechanism breaks, the blend door falls down and you will only have ac but no heating.

You can buy a ac blend door kit for your explorer, they cost about $120 on ebay or other places.
search for Explorer ac blend door kit.

The duct is under the the dash on the drivers side. And you will have to cut open the duct to install the replacement door.

Heres a link to a tutorial of how to do the job.

Ac is blowing out of defrosterandnot panels in the dash. Air is cool cold air will blow out of rear seat panel/vent 1998 ford explored

The most common cause is a bad blend door actuator which controls air flow throughout the cabin. When air flow only flows from 1 section (either floor, vent, or defrost) it's an indication that the blend door actuator is either stuck or broken.

How to replace blend door actuator in a ford

I recently did mine, I hear you can do it without taking the entire dash apart but I had no luck with it myself. I have to get ready for work but, on mine it was located down and to the left of the radio. its a white box...are you hearing a clicking noise or something? I had to roll the entire dash back and it was still a major pain getting it out.
