Replace the blower motor resister,it is mounted right next to the blower motor,it has a lug with about 7 wires on it.Just unplug it and remove two screws to remove the resister. This controls the speeds for the blower motor. The blower motor is the cause of the resister failure.Even if the motor seems to sound, and run fine,it is pulling to many amps.

This is caused by a defective blower speed control resistor.

It's most likely the blower motor resistor it's usually in the duct work close to the blower motor. It's held in place with a couple screws and will have 4-5 wires going to it. These things generate heat and they put them in the duct work so air blows accross to help cool them.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC CANYON BLOWER MOTOR ONLY WORKS ON HIGH?

Got an 04 Canyon that had the same problem. Under the dash on the passenger side there's a speed switch that controls your fan. Cost me $20 at the parts store. Easy to replace.

Fan motor doesn't work on 1-3 but works on 4 for the A/C and Heater. Is it a fuse or switch problem?

It's your blower motor resister. It is located on or near the blower motor. This, when it goes bad, will cause your fan to only work on high.

2005 GMC CANYON BLOWER MOTOR ONLY WORKS ON HIGH?

Ok I'm going to be honest and tell u the truth, this exact thing happened to me. There is a 4 part pigtail relay plug connecting to a transister, the high only works because it bypasses the transiter and go directly into the fan power, but setings 1,2,3 eventualy and no longer usuable due to the transister input to the specific speed burning out, u can lose differnt speeds and differnt times depending on which speed u prefer the most. If u prolong the repaire even longer it will cause a short and u will burn fuses or even the main fuse in your fuse box. How to fix. I didn't perform the repair but I read that the relay and the pigtail are both located next to the fire wall. It cost me a few hundred dollers, and only 35 dollers for labor, the rest was the transister and the pigtail being the most. Sapposidly it was vary easy to get to, and if you look in a haynes repair manual it will give you the electrical scymatics of the wireing for the fan blower control.

check your fuses. If it quit working immediately after the recall work then you need to take it back and make them fix it.

2004 gmc canyon fan moter for ac dont work

There is a fuse I would check first if you haven't tried that yet. They had problems with the switches in some of those vehicles. If you could take the control out and unpug then reattach the plug it may start working meaning the switch is bad.
You may have a bad fan motor. Do you have a test light to check for voltage at the motor itself?
Lastly, there is a resistor set that changes from low to high that may have one or more resistors burned out.
