Does the stereo light up when you turn it on? If not, find the fuse for 'dome'. If it does, check the wires to the stereo and see if you disturbed a connection to the dome and cargo lite.
Why would you replace a fuse with the wrong amperage?
I will at least give you credit for knowing that was wrong
& could in some cases over heat & burn vehicle wiring
What was that going to do or prove?
Surely even with absolutely no vehicle knowledge
what so ever, you would would realize that you need
to have a shop check out or test the truck for short to ground,
poor grounding etc on the dome light & what ever gauge lighting
circuit issues you have
What is really sad, is the truck isn't very old & you want to
risk further issues with the fuse deal
You blew the CIG,RADIO or ACC fuse in the fuse panel, remove and replace with same rated fuse. There is a grounding issue inside the lighter housing from this
Did you check for voltage at backup lamp fuse, use a test light. The actual diagram I copied was larger than this and easier to read. This must be a site issue, common to fixya. You could even use a long piece of jumper wire from battery voltage to light green trailer wire, to see if lamp will light. It would'nt hurt to use inline fuse, for testing. If lamp still won't work, maybe problem with trailer wiring. You could even use jumper wire to bypass the connector itself, same color wire?
I have the same problem, not sure, but I think it is related to my headlight switch. My windshield leaks and the switch has water damage. Check at your trailer light harness to see if you have power there, it runs off a separate circuit/fuse.
it's not required to have the key in the ignition for either the dome lights or headlights to be on unless of course you mean the daytime running lights. be that as it may, locate the head light relay in the engine compartment fuse panel near the battery and replace it. this should resolve the issue. the dome light could be an issue with another relay this time located in the interior fuse panel
they may possibly be on the same circuit so replacing the relay in the engine compartment may fix the dome light issue
