I need meanings for trouble codes for 92 mercury capri

Is it only the speedometer light or the whole "cluster" in the dash - speedometer, tach, etc...?
it could be as easy as the lamps in the cluster are burned out. If it happened over time, probably lamps.

could be low fluid level in reservoir or brake light switch or brake failure switch

check for fuel at engine and fuel pump circuit

It could be a relay, a fuse, the ignition module, or a list of other things

Start with new plugs and ignition wires.
If does not help, try injector cleaner like Seafoam in the gas tank.

I would suspect that you have a loose connection inside the distributor or in the ignition wiring. Give it a good visual inspection. Also, after dark, have someone start the car while you observe under the hood for any arcing or sparking. Doing this at night allows you to see where trouble may be located. If your in the U.S. you can go to auto-zone or advance auto and have them test it for you it is obd1 and will need a special scanner to pull codes but it is an easy way to find out if you want more detailed info you can go to www.alldatadiy.com and purchase a subscription and they have the way to scan it without a scanner device it changes over the years but try turning your ignition key to the run then off position three times and watch the check engine light if it flashes like this flash pause flash flash that's code 12 and will repeat 3 times it will do this with each code once you have recorded all codes it will flash code 12 again and start over with the codes once you have the codes post them here for what they mean. Most likely a 02 sensor or catalitc converter going out.
