Yes, you need a transmission flush machine. it is the only way to get 100% fluid exchange. i would strongly recommend having this professionally done, as a transmission is a very expensive experiment.

My 1996 volvo 850 speedometer just stoped working

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission and instrument cluster in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Replace brake light 850 Volvo wagon1996

It is really easy, and requires no tools. There is a flush panel inside the car behind the lights, using fingernails pry it off, then all the bulbs are visible and quickly changed out.

Where is the ecu on my 96 volvo 850 se

On the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the coolant bottle. It is housed inside that black box. It has three pieces, a top, middle and a base. It is held together with metal clips. Remove the top and middle section and you will need a "special tool" or a couple screwdrivers to release the ECM from the wiring harness that is part of the base.
