Theres a coolant fan sensor in intake, but i think the problem is the fan relay, its in the right front of engine compartment on relay block.the sensor is at rear of head on coolant outlet if its a 2.2 engine, if its a 3.3 engine then the sensor is under alternator.

Auto electric Cooling fans will not come on

Check fuse, electrical connections/wiring for breaks, check the fan motors by hooking up 12 volt leads to see if they run. If they do, check the temperature sensor.

My car honda accord fans not working the car gets too hot what can I do

If you have checked all fuses and relays..and your fans are not coming on at all..most likely you have bad sensors that sense the temp of the water in the radiator..most are inserted into the radiator core..and to the fans and when the heat gets higher then their settings the fans come on and off when cool enough without them.. Need to have someone bypass the sensors.." Direct 12 volt to the fans" and if the fans run it is the sensors or fuse or relay..good luvk

My radiator fans 2001 olds alero do not come on. i have change relays and new coolant sensor. are there 2 sensors

Check radiator fan relay first by changing with another with same part number in the fuse panel. If its good check for 12 volts at the fan switch coming in and going back out.If their is going back out replace fan switch.

The radiator fan does not come on but works when 12 volts is directly applied.how do i trouble shoot that?

follow the wires to that fan to the fan sensor , or check your under hood fuse and relay panel for the control relay for the fan

Integra runs hot a traffic light

Sounds like perhaps the electric fans are not working. The fan(s) run only when the tempurature reaches a certain point. When you are sitting at a traffic light, you are not moving through the air and therfore you have no air moving through the radiator to cool the hot fluid inside the radiator. This is a situation where the electric fan would start up in order to cool the engine when there is no air movement otherwise.

Causes: No power --- check the fuse for the radiator fan and replace if blown. If it blows again then something more is wrong that needs to be diagnosed.

Temp sensor is no longer functioning --- Check the temp sensor for connectivity when hot (on some cars you can simply jump the switch and see if the fans run)

Fan(s) are bad --- Apply 12 volts to the fan power lead and see if they run. If they do then something else is blocking or not transfering the normal power to the fans, like a relay or control module. ( more diagnostics needed here)

It depends on how mechanically inclined you are. If you feel comfortable doing these kinds of tests then go for it. If not, perhaps a nice "good reputation" shop might be your best choice.

If you have further questions, just ask.

Have 95 saturn engine fan not running will idle

The engine fan is a 12 volt DC motor in a housing attached to the radiator.
Unplug the fan and run two wires from the battery to the fan plug connections, if it runs the fan is good and you need to look next to the temperature sensor which tells the fan to turn on due to engine heat. If fan does not turn on with direct electricial connection then you can buy a replacement at advance, autozone, or on ebay motors. Note apply power to the fan's connector, not to the car wiring harness. If your fan is good I believe the there are two termperature sensors screwed into the driver's side of the engine head. They look similar but have different electrical connectors.

Electric cooling fan

check wiring to fan for 12 volts. check wiring and see if there is a relay that can be replaced or tested. If the relay is good, and wiring has 12 volts, then either the temp sensor or fan motor brushes are shot.

I have a 93 jetta with the 2.0l engine. Engine heats up when at idle with the a/c on. Auxiliary cooling fan is not working at all. Where is a good place to buy the auxiliary fan? Or is there anything else...

Check the fuse to the radiator fan and the relay's. Also check the wire harness and connections to the electric fan. Most of the time it's going to be a bad relay or corroded wire harness which is cheaper then the fan unit it self. Recap: check the fuses and relay and also check the wire harness at the fan to make sure there is 12 Volts to the power wire to the fans. Easy way to do this runt he engine and turn the A/C on hi and check radiator fan wire harness for 12 volts. If there is no power then work your way back to the relay, change the relay if the fuse is good. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

Radiator Cooling Fans Don't Turn on - 97 grand prix

Your sensor does not only turn on the fan, it tells the computer what the engine temp is and the computer adjusts to that (will run rich and waste fuel). Likely it will cost you more not to change it than it will to just do it.
