I smell a bad fuel pump.. Easiest way to check this is have someone turn the key but not actually start the car and you stand near the tank to listen for the humming sound a pump usually makes as it pressurizes the system. If you hear the humming sound then check the pumps PSI and see if it holds. Good luck

I have a 1999 Pontiac Montana and I'm having issues with it's starting and then as well when it is started once in awhile dying while it running while driving

You should check with a scanner to see if any codes are pending or have been set. This will give you an idea of where to look. To me it sounds like a fuel problem like a weak fuel pump or restricted fuel system.

2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi starts and immediately dies; will not run without foot constantly on gas pedal

Well pumping the pedal on a fuel injected car does nothing. If there are no trouble codes stored in the computer, look for excessive fuel from the injectors or the fuel pressure regulator. Or lack of air thru the idle air control valve.

Won t start

run the fault codes and look for faulty cam/ crank position sensor as this is indicated by the backfire/hard start and lower idle RPM. Check that battery terminals are clean and tight..

2002 pontiac montana will not start on its won, you have tio apply gas to it and it will start but once you realease your foot off the gas pedal the car shuts down again, when it shuts down you hear a

The buzz could be the fuel pump in the gas tank.
If it will run with the throttle open it could have an issue with the idle speed control valve or a dirty throttle body.
The computer controls idle speed by how much air enters the intake thru the valve.

2000 pontiac montana hesitates on starting

Sounds like a leaky fuel line somewhere and the pressure isn't strong enough to go through the fuel pressure regulator. Try to locate fuel leak by smell.

My 1999 Pontiac Montana starts fine, and then sometimes dies

The starting /keep running issue is probably a slow IAC (idle air control)Next time turn the key on,wait 3 or 4 seconds then start,if it keeps running after that wait time everytime,it most likely is the IAC,,,,,,no big deal.

2000 Montana van dies while running

before u replace any parts u need to have the electronic engine control tested for trouble codes, this is the 1st thing that any shop does to know where to start the repair and diagnosis. Most likely u have a defective crankshaft position sensor, but have the test run..
