Amber,I wouldn't drive, could be unsafe to you and the longer you drive the more damage it will get means more money.

I think I would seek a different opinion from a shop that has a good reputation. This sounds like 'make-work' to me. We have several shops in our area that are known for doing the same thing! Service costs are high enough with trying to gouge someone. Good luck!

p0441 = Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow
p0422 = Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)

once you pop the hood, there should be a cover behind the light housing that you twist to open the backing.. inside the housing will be a spring lever that secures the bulb down... unhook the spring and disconnect the harness connecting to the bulb...

well its either the wire between the tank and guage in dash or it is the gauge in the dash

if you remove the bulb it will have all the information you need on it

if it is an over head cam motor they dont have any lifters valves work directly off the cam if not you have 1 lifter per valve example 16 valve engines have 16 lifters

3 valves per cylinder 4 cylinder engine, 3X4 is 12, so yes 12 is correct, no u don't have to change all of them, just the defective ones, the reason they want to do this is one of 2 things, there is a problem with the design of the original lifters and they want to update them, 2nd reason is they have been unable to isolated which lifter(s) are causing the tapping noise.
