Some have been fitted with a inline fuse , trace the hot wire from the radio to the ignition switch for a inline fuse, check the fuse with a trouble light not a meter as sometimes they go open circuit under load .
Possible shorted transmission harness or transmission shift solenoids. Disconnect the big connector at the transmission under the car and see if the short stops and fuses don't go.
There are MANY different options when it comes to your system such a XM or Sirius satellite systems and then wiring to the amp & steering wheel controls.
