Try giving it a tune-up. May not be burning all the gas, Reverse is a tall gear and may need spark plugs.

Ok my 2000 Maxima won't stay running. It starts fine, but when the idle drops it stutters and dies.

The symptoms you describe can be caused by a faulty MAP sensor or airflow sensor.

Try disconnecting the electrical connector on the MAP sensor and see if the car drives okay.

My 99 maxima car rpm goes up and down olny when i hit 2,000rpm's and will not go over 45 mph what could be wrong with it ?

If your driving along light on the gas & as the transaxle
shifts or later the tach or rpm flairs up,then the transaxle
is slipping

There is no fix for that ,other than having it removed & rebuilt

Need a trans repair shop for that

Makes knocking/rattling noise when steping on the gas and then stalls out

you first need to make sure there is enough oil in the car and the knock sensor is good give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your car wish you the best of luck Michhigan Man.
