you can register for free and access the shop manual for your car there. The procedure to do this is quite lengthy and will require your car to be aligned if you remove the subframe from the vehicle. If it's a manual transmission, and you have a lift, you don't need to remove the subframe, you should be able to take it out by simply turning it the correct way. The manual tranny is light. If it's an automatic, you can go either way but it's easier to remove the subframe in my opinion. The automatic is much heavier.

Removing the speedometer from transmision

The speedometer adapter is probably siezed in the aluminum case. Try working it loose with a can of Wd40 or equivelant, tap gently on it with a hammer to work the lubricant into the speedometer bore. Use a pair of vice grips to rotate and remove after you take the small clamp that is holding the adapter in

All trans to engine bolts are removed. engine mounts are free, engine still won't come out. I don't know what else could possibly be keeping it from seperating. Is it absolutely necessary to remove...

YES YOU MUST SEPERATE TO GET TO FLYWHEEL
THER IS TWO DOWEL PIN ONE PER SIDE TOWADS THE TOP OF THE TRANSMISION
PART OF ENGINE BLOCK THEY OFTEN BIT AND HOLD ON GOOD IF YOU ARE SURE THAT
ALL THE BOLTS OF THE TRANSMISION ARE UNDONE YOU SHOULD PUT THE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT BACK IN PUT JACK UNDER FRONT OF ENGINE HARMONIQUE PULLEY TO
STABILIZED MOTOR THEN WITH SECOND JACK AT REAR OF TRANSMISION JACK UP TO
START THE RELEASE THEN LOWER BACK DOWN TO RELASE TOP OF TRANSMISION
THEN WITH SUTIBLE PRY BAR BETWEEN ENGINE AND TRANS PRY APART UNTIL FREE
FIRST I WOULD UNBOLT TORQUE AND PUSH BACK IN TRANSMISION AND PUT A RETAINER TO PREVENT TORQUE FROM FALLING OUT OTHERWISE YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE TORQUE PUMP INPUT SEAL IT WILL LEAK IF SEPERATED

How to insall engine with manual transmision. do I insall the engine with the bellhousing atatched to the engine or the transmision

If you have removed the Radiator and cleared enough of the forward area to be able to have clearance put the engine back in with the transmission attached. If it looks like you won't have the clearance then attach the bell housing to the Transmission as you should have more room to work with the Bell housing this way although I prefer to install and remove standard mounted engines as assemblies attached to the transmission.

Car stuck in gear.I had to remove cv joint shaft in order to get moving.what could be the problem and what caused this?

Its probably shift linkage between shift handle and transmision get under car and find where the shifter comes through the cars floor and check the rod arms that run between shifter and tranny, if its good then its internal transmision.

How do i check my transmission fluid? for a 2000

Set the parking brake and put a block on at least one wheel. Pop the hood and find the Transmission dipstick. Start the engine and shift the gear shift into neutral. Pull the dipstick, wipe it with a clean rag, put it back in, pull it out and read it.
