Read owners manual for resetting the oil change light. It doesn't go off by itself once the oil is changed. There will be an oil life reset button either near your display or on the steering wheel.

SOURCE: How do I reset the "Oil Change Warning Indication" on colorado

if you have a owners manual read it. try coloradofans.com website and search the forums. i think johnny5846 is right if you don't have a DIC (driver info center). i believe you use the DIC(tripodometer). i don't know the sequence off hand, you can also you can change your lock settings and alarm settings, etc. with the DIC.

Why is my oil life percent is 9 and can I drive still or I have to change engine oil soon for the mercury mountaineer 2006

Regular maintenance is needed for oil changes. If your oil level is dropping you need to keep it up to operating level but you do need to find out why it is burning or losing oil. If your oil is black then it needs to be changed regardless of the miles on it.

I need to know the procedure to reset, 'Change Oil warning' on my 2006 Ford Freestar.

On the right side of the steering wheel there is a button that says "setup". Turn the ignition key to the on position, push the setup button and hold it until the change oil warning shows 100%. There should be a message that pops up telling you to push the reset button to the right of the setup button. Push the reset button and hold until the message confirms the oil life has been changed to 100%. Release button turn off ignition key. Now start the engine to make sure the warning light does not come back on. If it does, try again.

After oil change the warning light ( Oil change required ) still ON

You need to reset it manually after you change the oil. If you have the owners manual it will explain how to do this. If you don't have it you get get a PDF version online at ford.com.

2006 Ford Explorer owners manual.

Essentially you need to scroll through the message center until system scan appears. enter it and a message will come up oil life press reset if new or oil life hold reset if new. Follow those instruction and the oil life will eventually change to 100%.

I have changed the lube oil and filter in my mountainer, but the display on the dashboard still shows 'oil change required'. How do I the 'oil change required' message?

The instructions on how to reset the' oil change required' message is in the owners manual (I believe it's page 81). Listed below is a site to get a free download of the manual for your 05 Mountaineer. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing this info.

Oil warning light on a brava car wont go off

Best would be is to measure the oil pressure out put.
Sometimes the oil filter could be the culprit.
Was the oil warning light staying 'on; prior to the oil and filter change?..If not thn the first thing to check is to replace the oil filter ..its better to install the 'original' one .
Hope this helps!

Bought a 2006 explorer and the low air in tire warning and change oil now warning comes on every time I start the car and I have to reset it. can I reset the computer? I have the computer readout gauge but...

All tire pressures have to be close to the same to turn of low tire waning. Th change oil is reset easily, and the directions should be in your owners manual.
