IT COULD BE A IAC (IDLE AIR CONTROL) MOTOR, OR IT COULD BE A TPS (THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR) ,THERE ARE MANY MORE POSSIBITIES ,BUT TRY THOSE FIRST.

SOURCE: Mk2 idle problem. Pulsates between 600 - 1500 rpm when warm

Check your Air Mass Sensor. Take great care as they are easy to break it is just a fine wire.

There is a cleaner available at an autoparts shop.

If you are not sure how. Go to the library and get the Bentley shop manual to explain the process in detail.

TAKE GREAT CARE WITH THE SENSOR.

SOURCE: rpm 2500 to 3000 when you start then goes down 1500

In 99% of the cases of GMs doing that it's the Idle Air Control motor, which you already changed. But changing it does not always fix the problem. First, if you bought the new IAC motor second hand, change it again cause last time i had to change mine 3 times before i got one that worked OK. Second, if it was bought new and/or your are 100% sure the IAC is working fine, then you probably just have to much carbon deposits where the motor's tip and the intake manifold meet and are supposed to seal up, preventing it from closing normally and giving the engine too much air, cause the high RPM idle. So take the IAC out again, clean the opening, lip and everything you can see and get into around that area, with a cue-tip and some contact cleaner, or lighter fluid or rubbing alcohol to get all the carbon deposits out and you should be ok. If not, then the problem probably resides in the car's onboard computer.

Hello...I have a 2009 chevy cruze 1.8L ,some 3 months ago,the car had some pulsating and vibration during driving , so I changed the spark plugs and the problem was solved, but after about a month, the car...

Was any of the previous spark plugs fouled? Dirty? If so you need to investigate whether the problem is oil or fuel causing the fouling. Also a possibility is that you have a bad plug wire and when you changed plugs you disrupted the plug wire enough to make contact. Now possibly the plug wire is showing too much resistance causing a misfire at idle. Only way to be sure is to have the car scoped to see if the wires are proper or defective. That is unless you are the change parts and try type. In that case try a new set of wires. The reason is because at idle the voltage is not as high as it would be at higher rpm.

99 4 runner v6 The engine pulsates at idle and during acceleration ,It goes up and down about 100 RPM and you can feel it under acceleration. what could be the cause?

If this a petrol engine, you have an air leak some where on the intake manifold. Test with soapy water and a paint brush whilst engine is running at idle. check all connections to the manifold and when soapy water gets sucked away, you have identified your leak. Start with the air cleaner and work along system back to the manifold.

Lights pulsating

use a volt meter at the batery, check the input with the the car at idle. then check again at 1500 rpm. If the volts go any higher than 13.7 then your alt. is getting ready to go & the overcharge is what makes the lights flicker

I have A 1993 gmc jimmy,It has A rough idle, idels low,& the rpm seems to pulsate. The service light cam on I ran it & came up with code # 32.what would cause this.

this is related to the egr system and makes sense when you describe a rough idle. the egr is probably stck open slightly. remove and attempt to clean with carburretor cleaner. it also helps to have a vacuum pump so you can work the diaphragm up and down. happy holidays
