the iac sensor is along the side of throttle body , did you give the throttle plate area a good cleaning out this is where the air path is for the IAC sensor , a lot of idle problems have been fixed with a can of throttle body cleaner and few good squirts of the stuff down the hole
yes, thats the typical symptom of a IAC valve giving you trouble, try cleaning it up but ull probabbly will have to replace it have fun hope this helps
I would suggest a few things ... first and the most important... check that you have the wires in the proper order on the distributer. next have the timing checked.
