2007 Toyota Yaris Passenger Airbag lights

Hi

My Toyota Yaris has three lights related to Passenger Airbag plus a fourth for seat belt.

One light says: Airbag
Next says OFF
3rd says ON

When a passenger is sitting ON light comes on. With vaccant passenger seat, neither ON nor OFF lights are illuminated but AIRBAG is still lit. Is it normal condition ?

Regards

Thank you Guru! Will the bag work if the light is on? Plus will it pass safety inspection if it is on?

How do i deactivate srs so i can replace front seatbelts on 2005 yaris

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
1. Wait at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is
turned off and the negative (-) terminal cable is
disconnected from the battery before starting the
operation.
(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source, so
if work is started within 90 seconds of disconnecting
the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS
may be deployed).
2. Do not directly expose the steering pad, front
passenger airbag assembly, center airbag sensor
assembly, front airbag sensor, front seat inner belt
assembly, seat position sensor, occupant
classification ECU, front seat side airbag assembly,
side airbag sensor, curtain shield airbag assembly,
rear airbag sensor or front seat outer belt assembly to
hot air or flames.

2007 Yaris, airbag light on dash on, passenger airbag light "OFF" stays on regardless of anything in seat. Was told this was a common problem, probably a sensor, costing $750 to replace. This...

typical american i assume here ,sue everybody in sight ?? Well the fault is most likely caused by the connector block under the front seats ,make sure their is no rubbish under the front seats and then disconnect the connector and clean the contact pins with a soft B black lead pencil and then try that ,if that doesnt work then remove the seat and clean the pins in the connection on the pyrotechnic attachment at the bottom of the seat belt anchor .This is around 60% or so all the faults i get associated with airbag lights ,dirty connections under the seat or empty coke cans and water bottles pulling the plugs out

WHAT DOES THE AIRLBAG LIGHT MEAN WHEN IT IS ON AND WONT GO OFF?? 2007 SEDAN YARIS.

The airbag light illuminates to indicate a problem with the airbag system. It means that the system has a problem and is no longer functional and will not deploy an airbag during a collision..

Srs warning light on

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat

(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity2_bing.gif problem.

I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s)

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

Airbag alarm

This should be for the passenger side airbag. If an adult is sitting in the passenger side seat and there is a light that says airbag off then you have a problem either with the passenger side airbag or with the passenger side seat detector. Start up the car and sit in the passenger seat, buckle the seat belt and make sure the light now says airbag on. If this does not happen take car to dealer. Dealers have correct computers to enter the airbag modules to read and diagnose the fault code.
