Provided the belt that is to be used is a high quality belt such as a Gates brand the belt can safely last for 80,000 to 90,000 miles before needing to be changed. As for the original belt usually for hondas it's 100,000 miles Toyotas about the same 100,000 to 110,000 miles, check with your local dealership's service department for you cars original belt Suzukis and kias are about 90,000 miles.

SOURCE: 1994 toyota corolla alternator belt replacement

loosen the bolt that is holding the adjuster of the alternator. loosen the belt by pulling it and the alternator would slide in. remove and replace the belt.

do the reverse on installation.

remember to tighten all bolts of the adjuster and alternator after tightening the belt.

tnx 4 using fixya,

SOURCE: timing belt for a 2005 Toyota Corolla type S

Well you are in luck if that is your concern. The '05 Toyota Corolla has a chain instead of a belt. The recommended mileage I am not sure of but it will be listed in the owners manual. Most of the timing belts are recommended at no later than 90, 000 miles. The timing chains I have done I did because of a chain guide issue. They do get some slack in them but they aren't going to cause you to be broken down on the road with engine problems like a belt can.
i hope this helps, please remeber to rate this fix.

When should I get the timing belt on my 2000 Toyota Corolla changed?

With all due respect, the answer that was provided above is incorrect. The 2000 Corolla does not have a timing belt. It has a timing chain. There is no routine maintenance on a timing chain.

Humming noise and wobbling pulley 1995 Corolla

Maybe, you would have to remove the belts and then take a look at all the pulleys, it could be a pulley or a bad waterpump, or even something in the timing belt, like a timing belt pulley or tensioner pulley or waterpump, the best way to find out is to remove all the belts and then start the motor and listen for the noise, if the noise is still there with the belts removed then its something in the timing belt, but is the noise goes away then its something with the belts a pulley or a alternator, you would have to inspect all pulley and the acc, hope this helps,

1995 toyota coroll turns over but wont start.no spark at plugs, changed cap and rotor

sounds like you need an ignighter which controls spark and it can be found in the distributor under the cap it should have a plug (wire harness) on it.

I HAVE TO CHANGE THE TIMING BELT ON MY 1995 COROLLA. WHAT TOOLS AND SIZE DO I NEED? I AM FEMALE AND HAVE CHANGED A FEW THINGS ON OTHER CARS BUT NEVER THIS

It's pretty involved. It requires removing the right engine mount, and a lot of disassembly. AutoZone has instructions on line here. As far as tools, you should have a good set of metric sockets and end wrenches, and it looks like you will need a jack (for raising/supporting the engine while removing the mount) and a pulley puller to remove the crankshaft pulley.
