If you have the service manual that came with the installation of your remote system, that would be a plus. If not, I would start with checking the ground wire and the power wire connections to make sure your remote system is getting power then make sure the vehicle is fully engaged in park/neutral and emergency brake is fully set. Try it again, if still no luck, try disconnecting BOTH the batterey terminals, remove the battery from the remote itself and leave disconnected for an hour making sure that the terminal ends are not touching anything. This will run out any back up battery used for memoryOr air bags etc that might be holding on to a trouble code that is preventing the remote to activate. Before hooking the battery terminals back to the battery, ( with one in each hand free from anything but your touch), quickly tap the terminals together. You don't have to do this and I don't think anyone other than me, would suggest such a crazy thing but That alone has actually done wonders in a more than a couple of instances for me. Try starting again. If still no luck, you might want to have a tech look at it because anything further that you will need to do is a little bit more entailed usually requiring more experience. Have you recently hooked up a new stereo/cd/dvd player that might have a remote?

I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX. My key will not unlock the door, I have tried manually and by pushing the unlock button.

Most door latches have a manual unlock procedure, and for most, you turn the key as far as you can then lift door handle and as you apply lift key should then turn further to unlock door. If this doesn't work on yours, call dealer service department and ask what's the trick on yours.

The starter need a lot more charge to crank the engine then lights, door lock and other auxiliary equipment. So it could be a battery. Try jump wire your car. If this does not help - check the starter relay in the relay box of engine compartment.

Press and *hold programming button* in (see diagram, button under dashboard)
After 15 seconds the the door locks will cycle 3 times. Do not release Programming button.

My Porsche Key fob no longer unlocks the doors

Insert key into door barrel or ignition lock and turn key, whilst doing this press the unlock/lock button, the led on the dash should flash to indicate this has initialised the key to the car, then remove key and test operation of remote. If this fails then a new remote plus coding to the car by your dealership is needed
