The alternator is controlled by the engine computer. Its possible the regulator inside the computer has failed. You could also have a faulty wire or connection between the alternator and the battery cable. Or a bad ground connection. Someone would need to troubleshoot the charging circuit with a meter and a shop manual.

Remove the distributor cap,check to make sure the plug wires didn't lift out of cap,Have someone turn engine over while you watch if rotor is turning. If those two things are ok,Lift rotor off distributor shaft,The ignition modular is the round black plastic piece under the rotor.It just lifts out and has a wire plug to undo.Replace this.
