That is a check engine light/notification. If this lights up or indicates, kindly see a mechanic to look at where the problem could be. Most of the times it has to do with failing sensors. You can ask more questions here Ask question Electronics questions answered
That is your Check Engine Light. It is indicating a fault of some kind, usually of an emissions nature. Take your car to an auto parts store or a service station so they can obtain the fault codes from the car's computer and determine why the light is on and then recommend any repairs after that. I hope this helps! :) -Jason
In the evap system there are many different parts so in order to try and at least give you an idea, I will need the codes that Autozone pulled. Hyundai's seem to have a number of problems with thier evap systems even to the point of a no start condition after filling the vehicle up with gas. If you have the codes the pulled you can reply/comment back here or feel free to email me directly at [email protected] with all your information. I'll be happy to try and help you diagnose the problem. The most common codes are P0442 or P0456. If you have either one of these codes take a look at your fuel cap to make sure it has a good seal when closed (check the o-ring and such on the cap). Be happy to help just need a little more information (the codes) to help narrow down the problem.
I have a 2001 Sonata. Mine did the same thing but a little different. I bet you anything its a senser. Get it read at an autoparts store. I had two sensors go out and throw the car off whack with the "check engine" light on.
This is called your check engine light. In your car, there are two types of dash/instrument lights: red and yellow. Red indicates a major problem that needs to be corrected quickly like low oil pressure light or seat belt light. A yellow light means the problem MAY not by as bad. The check engine light is yellow because it may point to small problems that may not spell iminent doom for your car. Are there any differences in how the car drives or anything that you can think of that happened right before the light came on? Some problems could be simple from a lose gas cap to as complex as faulty sensors. If you have a car scan tool, use it to find the code. If not, you can visit your mechanic. However a trip like this will cost around $40 just for the scan. The easiest thing to do would be to try and figure out how the car is acting differently and let me know so i can help you figure out what is wrong. Hope this helps
Its probably the check engine light - a sign that something is going wrong with the car. Take it to a local auto parts store and get them to scan the engine code - its free. Once you get the code they can look up what the issue is. If you're not noticing it driving badly just yet, its probably a sensor that is going bad
