87 ford f250, cranks slow at times but has always started up....until three days ago when it wouldn't start at all. Made the old "no power clicking" so i took the battery in to be tested. battery tested good, then bad, then good, so I bought a new battery. Truck started fine several times and ran fine. Today the alternator belt snapped, I replaced it and it started fine, drove it for about 10 minutes, turned it off, then tried to start it and get the old "clicking". It won't even crank when being jumpped! What could be draining the battery like this?
I would first have the alternator checked by an auto electrician to ensure it is working correctly and is providing the correct volume of current. It may be faulty and when driving you will be drawing battery power instead of power from the alternator to run the electrics. This will drain the battery.
Alternators do not last forever and if you are still running the original unit it is likely to be on it's last legs and you will need a replacement unit.

If you cannot turn the engine on the starter motor when trying to jump start from a good battery I would suggest that you have a dead starter motor. If the starter motor has sufficient power running to it but won't operate then it looks like you are up for a replacement unit.
I had this problem on one of my vehicles and a reconditioned starter was needed.
Looks like you have a few issues to deal with but as we cannot test the car get it checked out by a reputable auto electrician.

thank you, I will do that. Any idea why it won't jump start?
