You may have clogged oil passages due to sludge build up. If you had the newer 2.7 or 3.5 liter engine I would say for certain. But these 3.3. liter engines from around 1996 don't have the terrible reputation for sludge the 2.7/3.5 does.
I would have your oil pressure checked by a mechanic with an external gauge. If the pressure is bad, suspect the oil pump. If it is good, I would run some valve medic or other internal engine cleaner to try and clear the oil galleyways. Follow the directions carefully on these products!
Throw a new PCV valve on there as well, it's cheap and takes 15 seconds to change. Good luck and keep me posted!

Found coolant sprayed over the backside of the engine passenger side and is overheating like crazy. What could be the causes?

If there is any water in your oil, you'll have to replace your head gasket. Sounds like the intake manifold gasket needs to be replaced, unless you just happen to have a water line to your heater core that is busted. Make sure there is plenty of water in your radiator and reservoir, then let the engine idle up to normal temperature and look back there with a flashlight and see where it's coming from.

Cant find my oil pressure switch on my 2003 chevy express

you'll need to remove the doghouse, the cover over the engine in the passenger compartment. Sometimes you have to remove one of the front seats to get it out.

The oil pressure switch/sending unit will be just to the drivers side of the distributor.

Hello Experts, I seem to have a problem getting my hood release to work, what is the best way to get my hood open when the specified manner of opening the hood does not work? I like to be able to...

Under the car:
You will be able to open the hood if you pull off your splash guard and use a long long flat head screwdriver or something like that. You'll see the hood latch in front of the radiator with the cable attached to it at the top near the hood, put it on the drivers side edge of the bottom of the latch and pry to the passenger side, the lever moves from the drivers side to the passengers side, the cable basically pulls the top of it to achieve this. so your doing the same thing on the bottom with the screwdriver.

Release the latch from underneath by the lever that you have to pry towards the passenger side. Then open the hood, and replace the safety release mechanism broken cable.

How to change head light on trailblazer 2004 dim light

There are 2 methods, 1 involves removing the grill. I'm not a fan of this, because it's brittle.

Drivers side- stick you hand down by the alternator and over behind the headlight. You'll feel a 3" round rubber boot. Pull this off and now you can twist out the bulb and replace.

Passengers side- remove the top of the air cleaner. You'll now have plenty of room to get in there and change this side, same procedure.

Release the latch from underneath by the lever that you have to pry towards the passenger side. Then open the hood, and repair or replace the safety release mechanism. This is very simple to remove out from the hood.

Where is the oil filter located on a 95 pontiac sunfire

The filter is a cartridge element type which is located on the forward side of the engine on the drivers side; (below and slightly left of the power steering reservoir). The oil filter is located under (inside) a black cover about 3-4 inches around and has a large hex head nut molded on top of it, to fit a socket on it. When replacing the oil filter element, press the tipped O-ring side of the filter down into the filter cavity until it locks in place. Then place the cover on top and tighten it. The cover will automatically lock onto the top section of the oil element as it is being tightened.

Where is the oil pan drain plug on a 2005 sunfire

A 2003-05 Sunfire most likely has the Ecotec 2.2 motor.

The drain plug is pretty standard and on the oil pan. However, most people are accustomed to a metal oil pan, and when viewing the Ecotec motor they confuse the metal TRANSMISSION pan as the motor oil pan.

The motor oil pan is actually aluminum, and looks like a continuation of the upper motor. For that reason, you don't "see" an oil pan. Knowing this fact, the oil drain plug is now easy to locate. Look at the far passenger side of the metal transmission oil pan. Now look at the very front of that section of the transmission oil pan and follow that ''line of sight'' until you reach the bottom of the aluminum motor (''oil pan''). The oil drain plug is right there, with it's head facing towards the transmission oil pan.

The drain plug (on a 2005 Sunfire) requires a 15mm wrench/socket; and has a built in rubber seal, which should be lubricated with oil before tightening.

Where is the oil sender on a 1999 4.0 cherokee

The oil pressure sender on a 4.0 liter it is located on the passenger side rear of the block, It's on the right side of the vehicle. (If you're in the States the sender is on the passenger side of the block). It's towards the back of the block under the cylinder head. It's pretty easy to spot, there's plenty of room in the engine compartment on these. Dig around a little and you can find it. A bad oil pressure sending unit will have the fiber disk inside leak if it gets bad enough. You need a factory new MOPAR sending unit and not anything else if you want to avoid potential complications, get some brake cleaner to spray out the plug because its gonna have oil in it. Be very careful when you go to unplug the wire or else you will break the little lock tab. Good luck and should take you no longer then 20 min to replace.
