Question about 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse
2000 eclipse gt. my car started dying, everything started shutting off so i put a brand new alternator and battery in my car and it worked great for a day and then the battery was so drained it barely turns on the dash indicator lights when i try to turn the car on. in turn not allowing it to start. i tried jump starting it but it doesnt hold long enough before dying again. what could cause this?
Sound like bad battery cables.replace them.the positive battery cable is old and have a lot of resistance not allowing power to the alternator to charge battery.if battery cable good check alternator connector wires.make sure they are not damage also check alternator fuse and fuse link.turn off radio before removing battery wires so you wont lose radio code.
