It is located under the passenger seat. May have to loosen the pass front seat mounting screws and remove the two rear screws and lift the seat up at the rear about 3 inches to replace it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7hfpkJrfLo
not normally most mercs have a chain timing belt so dont need doing its only need replacing if its worn which in most cases you can here a rattle from the engine dont let any one tell you they need changing every so many thousand miles as this is rubbish mine has 176000 miles and still has originall chain hope this helps
yes Mercedes changed the transmission service interval to 40k miles but then after that you don't have to service the transmission until you reach 140k miles. It is a good idea to the transmission serviced at this mileage especially for warranty purposes. There was a lot of issues with the new 722.9 transmission when it first came out. Which is one of the reasons Mercedes moved up the transmission service from 100k miles to 40k miles for the first time it needs to be serviced anyways. Plus if the transmission happens to need repairing the first thing the dealership will look for is to see if the trans service had been done at 40k miles before doing any kind of warranty work on the vehicle. As a former Mercedes Benz Tech at the dealership I would say yes it is necessary to get the trans serviced.
Switch ignition on and immediately press the button to the bottom left of the speedo (trip reset type button) TWICE !! Switch Ignition off Press and hold same button while switching ignition on. After 10 seconds a new interval will display followed by a beep. Release the button and switch ignition off. All done.
If you are turning in the vehicle in 3 months I wouldn't worry about changing the oil. In the old days, they use to say change it every 6,000 miles and then as a way to make more money, they started saying every 3,000 miles. But if you really want to reset your computer, unplug your negative cable from your battery terminal and leave it off for five minutes. On a mercedes, they are very advanced piece of work, but doing this may give you another message regarding losing power, so do this at your own risk.
