97 lexus ls 400. I was getting on the highway and the car started losing power. Cutting out badly could only get up to 40mph and then less and less. Even while idling I would rev it up and it was cutting out. No check engine light. Had it towed. The shop found no problem with it the next day. Two weeks later the samething happened and had it towed to another shop and they found nothing wrong with it the next day. For some reason after it sits for a night it is fine. help!

I would start by cleaning the mass air flow valve by spraying a non-chlronated brake to the inside of it cleaning the small wires inside of it then let it dry for 10-15 minutes before re-installing.If the problem still exist then check the fuel pressure and make sure its within its specs. If its not within the specs then replace the fuel pump.
On my 93 lexus ls 400, the heater control valve is gone and was bypassed. It mounts to the firewall under the hood. if it needs to be replaced your car will blow only heat
they are bad about pumps leaking into alternatorand shorting out .the high pressure hose from pump to rack and pinion are also bad about leaking. the racks will leak around 100k.
