Why the low beams would not work?

I have a 2001 nissan altima. The low beams stopped working at the same time, but all other lights, including tail lights, brake lights, high beams, turn signals, fog lights, all of these still work. I checked all fuses and they are working. The light fixture itself seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: low beam headlights do not work, but high beam headlights do

Clyde,

I've been troubleshooting this same problem on a different vehicle this week, and I can give you the steps I'd take.

1. If both sides went out at the same time, the problem is *NOT* likely to be the bulbs.

2. Check the fuses to see if both low beam lights are on the same fuse. Many cars have one fuse for low beam and another for high beam, so both lights out at the same time typically means fuse blown.

3. If the headlights are OK and the fuses are OK, then the problem is *LIKELY* the headlight switch. In my case, AutoZone has one and it can be installed easily; but in your case, that may not be as simple.

Please post your findings or comments.

SOURCE: Non working brake lights in Nissan Altima

make sure the button is working, it may need to be replaced. with your foot off the brake peddle, it is on upper part of brake peddle arm. when you let off brake peddle it pushes button in to shut lights off. it may just be stuck in, spray a little lubracant on it if it's stuck and push in manually several times to loosen.

SOURCE: Tune up nissan altima 2.5L model 2002

All you really need is a good set of spark plugs, this car has coil packs so no plug wires distributor caps etc.....Just remove the coil packs and install your plugs and your done. Good luck.

Where is the fuse located for a 2002 nissan altima drivers side low beam? THANKYOU

There is no fuse for a low beam. If the high beams are working and the low beams aren't then it blew the low beam filament.
