Need to replace serpentine belt on 2002 santa fe 2.7l v-6 w/air?

It is on the internet in dozens of places

Take a look at this picture. There should be a slot or square "hole" in the arm of the tensioner....I will also attach a link so you can see how and where this is at.

I'm assuming you mean Hyundai Santa Fe.
Will it start with the belt off ?

this sounds like a timing belt problem.

This is what could happen if not replaced.

Below is the diagram you will need to replace the belt. The diagram is for a 6cyl. 2.7 engine (most common for that year). Once the tensioner pulley is loose, route the new belt as diagrammed and while applying pressure, tighten the tensioner pulley.

First, you need to make sure you have the routing diagram on how to put the belt back on. You didn't mention your engine size, so i have included diagrams for both engines offered in 2002.

tighten the belt tightener

it uses a spring loaded tensioner.use a breaker bar to rotate the tension and it should just come off.if u need a pic or anything else to do it let me know,

its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.
