Not sure I understand your question. The intake manifold bolts directly to the head, so there should be zero clearance when its bolted down. Any gap will cause a vacuum leak.
Remove the plug wires or coil on plug from the spark plug,
Remove the plugs.
Gap new plugs to spec and tighten to proper torque replace wires or coils.
You should put anti seize compound on the threads of the plugs
be sure the plug wires get put back on the corrrect plug
