    Does is it stay running if you slightly give it throttle input ?

    In my 2001 Ford f250 7.3 liter diesel the trip gauge doesn't work. the buttons are illuminated but the display isn't lit up at all.

May need 1 0r more coil packs replaced,or it could be what happened to my 2000 4.6---1 lifter expanded out and wouldnt collapse,causing the rocker arm to fall out of place and the valve could never open...try unplugging 1 coil pack at a time while running and listen for a change in the way it runs,if there isnt a change then its probably a bad coil pack,find a cylinder that runs and swap the coil packs,if no difference then its probably the valve staying shut.

I have a 01 4.6 and i melted the #2 plug somehow. Replaced it and now i get a code p0355 and p0352. And cylinders #2 and #5 is not firing changed both coil packs and plugs. Still the same. Question is, could it be my ECM/PCM. I ask becuase first it was #7 not firing then it moved to #5 and now #7 is firing. WTH. Tested all the COP's and Fuel Injectors. #2 and #5 are nit firing.. HELP

Truck runs smooth but when you stop at a stop light or stop sign it will die sometimes
I recommending cleaning the idle air control valve. It get clogged with black carbon and doesn't work properly. It is easy to do and cheap. I understand it should be done periodically. I cleaned my husband's Ford F-150 IAC valve and solved the problem he has been having for, literally, years. My Toyota highlander '02 started acting up and I cleaned mine...worked like a charm. You use throttle body cleaner (spray).

2001 Ford F-150 Revving at idle.
Notorious for vacuum leaks from failed hoses/tubing/conectors.Some of these are very hard to see/access.Check for this and be sure fuel filter is fresh. Look at fuel pressure. Check MAF sensor for dirt that has bypassed air filter. Good luck! Rate me please.
