2005 Ford F350 SuperDuty 6.0 litre Diesel. Truck was very sluggish to accelerate and little or no boost showing on turbo pressure gauge. Next morning, it started fine, but when put in gear would quit and only run for about 5 seconds when re-started. The coolant level was low and over 4 litres was added to bring up. I started it again this evening and it runs fine in neutral, but appears to be blowing a lot of white smoke. I didn't try driving it yet as I don't want it to stall in the middle of the road. It is not leaking any fluid on to the ground and the engine oil level is OK (no coolant in the oil). Could the problems be related to the turbo or are there other things going on? Thanks. Gordon.

Well the question is where did the coolant go. if it didnt leak out it must have went out the pipe. As you stated, white smoke, white smoke is coolant. You definately need to get this to the shop. You cannot drive it this way or further damage will occur.

No kidding...if you don't get it to stop it will damage...my 4 year old can tell you that! Next time maybe a suggestion of something to try to fix it may be helpful...

2002 and up Ford F350 Diesel Engine Oil in Belly pan low fuel mileage.

Ford Diesel engine blows off the intake rubber intake hoses, blue in color with 7.0 Liter. If you have a problem with this engine as stated above there is an updated hose for the intake tubes also remove the intake pipe on the turbo side of the turbo remove the 10MM bolt that holds the metal tube on to the block and remove the clamp on the turbo, remove tube. Next look at the turbo shaft inside do you see oil in the turbo? If no then grasp the turbo shaft and try moving it up or down and in and out. Any Movement The turbo needs to be rebuilt before replacing the Turbo hoses. If there is oil in the turbo then it needs to be rebuilt so stop at this time and decide what you want to do with it.
The turbo also has a flapper valve inside the turbo that goes bad at about 100,000 this is the boost waste gate and boost flapper valve, it is an internal gate unlike the mechanical ones on most turbo. If you have low power check the boost pressure with your boost gauge if you have less than 12 pounds of boost then it's time to look at the turbo. Of the Turbo I have rebuilt I have increased fuel mileage by 30 percent. If you want the details of how to gain the extra mileage post a comment to me or ask this question and I will get back to you for the procedure.

94 f350 7.3l turbo diesel looses oil pressure as rpm increase

Before you spend money on a new gauge. Get an oil pressure testing gauge for $20 , remove the oil pressure sending unit and test the oil pressure. If oil pressure at idle and 3000 rpm's is a-ok via spec's ( big money repair items) then its either the gauge a clogged or defective sending unit or the circuitry. (little money repair items)
You can also have this done at a repair shop.

Low presure 300 psi to injectors, fuel presure though filters seems good but not enough to start my 2005 powerstroke 6 litre diesel (F 350 superduty)Help???

2006?? if so then its common rail with one high pressure pump ,the fuel through the filters is low pressure anyway ,then it goes into the high pressure pump that delivers the pressure to the injectors .If you dont know what your doing with this new piece of kit then refer to the dealer because it has a lot of fancy electronics controlled by encrypted software

My 2003 f-250 turbo not engaging

If you are getting zero boost, then your wastegate actuator may be jammed, causing the wastegate to be stuck open. That'll bleed all the boost off around the turbine, straight to the exhaust, and you'll never build any boost pressure.

How to turn up the turbo psi boost in a 2005 ford f-350 6.0 liter Superduty

You just can't turn up the turbo boost any more with the new engines. If the turbo start to boost more then the PCM is programed to, it will cut the fuel pressure down and you loose more HP. Here is a link for you if your looking to get good HP out of your 6.0 liter diesel. You can replace the wast gate for the turbo with a higher PSI rating but your going to have to by a electronic boost builder for the PCM so it will not kill the fuel pressure soon as you start making more boost. http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/bd-diesel/turbo-boost-builder.htm and http://innovativediesel.com/ Good luck and hope you get the HP your looking for to get out of your engine.

Truck takes off but turbo doesnt spool and wont shift

turbocharged diesel engines require some back pressure in the exhaust system. if you straight piped it, it won't make any power.
check vss in trans and exhaust sys for a problem.

Ford-F350 7.3 turbo sluggish when you accelerate

i dont know about the turbo going bad,but i do know that ive seen 7.3 diesel have bad injectors, usually 2 at a time, check for fuel at the injector which can get messy so wear protective gear such as goggles and gloves, while running crack open the fuel line at the injector to see if there is fuel,it should run rough which is good on the working cylinders,if it doesnt change then maybe a bad injector,or not enough fuel pressure at that injector.injection pump issues are another thing, but most likely its an injector.
