Leaking oil was told it had an upper and lower oil pan is this correct? Was told in order to repair upper pan , engine needed to come out, this sounds extreme. what can be done to fix the problem?

why not tell end goal first, the manual is organized by goals
like remove the oil pump? NOT ALL but below is my answer reading the manual to you
what engine is there and what transmission
no country told some have Y pipes crossing said pan
best is to look first ,

3.5L ? or 2.4GDI ( 2.4 is more tricky)
the service book states
3.5L

Drain the engine oil.
Remove the lower oil pan (A). Insert the blade of SST(09215-3C000) between the upper oil pan and lower oil pan. Cut off applied sealer and remove the lower oil pan.
insert the SST between the oil pan and the ladder frame by tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction of arrow.
After tapping the SST with a plastic hammer along the direction of arrow around more than 2/3 edge of the oil pan, remove it from the ladder frame.
Do not use the SST as a prybar.
Hold the tool in position (on the gasket line) and tap in with a light hammer.
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of Upper oil pan and lower oil pan.

What is the easiest way to replace the oil pan on a 2003 Suzuki XL7 Limite 4WD - Front of the pan (lower) was dented in the past and now the oil is slowly seeping through.

THE SHOP MANUAL COVERS THIS. ON ALL CARS.
IN ALL OR MOST CASES THE PAN MUST CLEAR THE OIL PUMP SUCKTION PICKUP TUBE AND STRAINER.

- Front wheels
- Oil dipstick tube
- Negative battery cable
Fill the crankcase to the correct level.

Oil leak front engine timing chan

1995 Tracker would have a timing BELT. Normal oil leak points (in order) on a Suzuki G16 engine are the distributor base (rear of motor), valve cover (top of motor), front main seal (behind lower timing belt cog) cam seal (behind the upper timing belt cog) and rear main seal. (behind the flywheel). I'd suspect the front main seal or cam seal. I use foot power to help find oil leaks.

Where is the oil drain plug of a 2005 toyota sequoia ?

Look under the engine (not the transmission) for the drain plug on the engine oil pan.

The following is some information on how to change the oil pan:
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 3.4L Engine

Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain the engine oil.
Remove or disconnect the following:
- Engine undercover
- Front differential, if equipped with 4WD
- Oil pan, separate it from the engine using SST 09032-00100 and a brass bar
To install:
Apply seal packing to the oil pan.
Install the oil pan to the cylinder block. Tighten the nuts and bolts to: 67 inch lbs. (8 Nm) WARNING
If parts are not assembled within 5 minutes of applying time, the effectiveness of the seal packing is lost and must be removed and reapplied.
Install or connect the following:
- Front differential, if removed
- Engine undercover
- Negative battery cable
Fill with engine oil.
Start the engine and check for leaks.

4.7L Engine

Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
Remove the engine from the vehicle and mount it on a stand.
Remove or disconnect the following:
- Oil dipstick tube
- Lower oil pan
- Oil pan baffle
- Upper oil pan
To install: Fig. 1: Upper oil pan bolt location — 4.7L engine
The upper oil pan bolts are different lengths and are identified as follows:
- A: 0.79 inch (20mm) w/10mm head
- B: 0.98 inch (25mm) w/12mm head
- C: 2.36 inch (60mm) w/12mm head
- D: 1.38 inch (35mm) w/10mm head Fig. 2: Upper oil pan sealant application — 4.7L engine
Apply silicone sealant to the upper oil pan as shown.
Install the upper oil pan and tighten the fasteners in several passes to the following specifications:
- 10mm: 66 inch lbs. (7.5 Nm)
- 12mm: 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm) Fig. 3: Lower oil pan sealant application — 4.7L engine
Install or connect the following:
- Oil pan baffle. Tighten the fasteners to 66 inch lbs. (7.5 Nm).
- Lower oil pan. Tighten the fasteners in several passes to 66 inch lbs. (7.5 Nm).
- Oil dipstick tube
Install the engine.

I was told there are two oil pans on Mazda Tribute 2001 (upper & lower) 4 cylinder manual. I have an oil leak do I replace both?

There are two gaskets, one is between the lower pan and the upper pan, and the second is between the upper pan and the engine. You only need to replace the gasket that leaks. If both are leaking, replace them both. To find out where the leaks are, raise the car, get underneath, and look closely all around the oil pans to see where the oil is coming from. Use a flashlight if necessary. You should be able to trace any leaking oil upward to its source.

The oil pan gaskets are not necessarily the only sources of oil leaks. Check to see if any oil is coming from behind the timing cover, and look for oil coming from the valve cover gasket.

Have a 1999 eclipse 2.0 L...Need to replace oil pan. Do I have to remove any other parts to get the pan off

2.0L Engine

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain the engine oil.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Engine undercover Front exhaust pipe Lower oil pan bolts and lower pan Cover Upper oil pan bolt and upper pan Baffle plate

To install:

Clean all gasket surfaces of the cylinder block and the upper and lower oil pan.
Install or connect the following:
Baffle plate
Apply a 0.16 in. (4mm) bead of sealant to the gasket surfaces of the upper oil pan.
Upper oil pan onto the cylinder block within 15 minutes after applying sealant. Tighten the bolts as shown in the accompanying figure.

Apply 0.16 in. (4mm) bead of sealant to the gasket surfaces of the lower oil pan.
Lower oil pan and tighten the bolts, in the sequence shown, to 88-106 inch lbs. (10-12 Nm)

Front exhaust pipe Engine undercover Oil drain plug with a new gasket and tighten to 29 ft. lbs. (40 Nm)

Lower the vehicle and fill the crankcase to the proper level with clean engine oil.
Connect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Non-Turbo Engine

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Drain the engine oil into a suitable container.
Once the oil has completely drained, install the plug and tighten to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
Remove the front exhaust pipe.
Remove the engine oil dipstick and tube assembly.
Remove the front plate.
Unfasten the oil pan mounting bolts, then remove the oil pan and gasket.

To install:

Apply sealant at the point where the engine block meets the oil pump.
Use a new gasket and install the oil pan. Tighten the mounting bolts to 8.9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
Install the front plate.
Install the front exhaust pipe.
Install the dipstick and tube assembly.
Safely lower the vehicle to the floor.
Refill the crankcase with oil to the proper level.
nnect the negative battery cable.
Start the engine and check for leaks.

Turbo Engine

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Safely raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the front exhaust pipe.
Remove the exhaust pipe and muffler assembly.
Drain the engine oil into a suitable container. Once the oil has drained completely, tighten the plug to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
Remove the dipstick and tube.
For AWD vehicles, remove the transfer case assembly as follows:
1. With the propeller shaft still installed, remove the transfer mounting bolt.
2. Insert a suitable prytool in between the transfer case and transaxle, then remove the transfer case from the center shaft.
3. Remove the transfer case from the center shaft. Do NOT tilt the transfer assembly to the rear or oil will leak out.
4. After removing the transfer assembly, insert tool MB991193 or equivalent, to prevent the oil from leaking out. Use a piece of wire to suspend the transfer case from the body.

Remove the bell housing cover.
Disconnect the oil return pipe from the oil pan.
Remove the oil pan mounting bolts. Tap the oil pan seal breaker MB998727 or equivalent between the oil pan and the engine block to break the seal and remove the oil pan.

To install:

Clean the sealing surface on the oil pan and engine block. Apply a continuous bead of sealant MD970389 or equivalent to the oil pan.
Clean the oil pan mounting bolt holes in the oil seal case.
Install the oil pan to the engine block. Tighten the mounting bolts to 5.1 ft. lbs. (6.9 Nm).
Use a new gasket and connect the oil return pipe to the oil pan.
Install the bell housing cover.
If equipped with AWD, install the transfer case assembly.
Install the dipstick and tube assembly.
Install the front exhaust pipe.
Install the exhaust pipe and muffler.
Install a new oil filter.
Safely lower the vehicle to the floor and add five quarts of oil to the crankcase.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Start the engine and check for leaks.

1999 buick park avenue ultra motor mount and supercharger belt replacement

Remove the engine mount to engine mount bracket nuts. Important: Ensure that the wood block extends past the width of the oil pan in order to avoid damage.
Use a jack with a block of wood on the jack under the oil pan in order to support the engine.
Remove the engine mount bracket front upper and lower nuts.
Remove the engine mount bracket front upper and lower studs and spacer.
Lower the engine as necessary and rotate the tensioner to remove the drive belt.Remove the supercharger belt.
Reverse For INSTALATION

Hi.. is right, The engine on Toyota Corolla 97.
Is a 2 oil pan type. Lower and Upper.
For Remove the upper it will need to remove the Engine assemble ,
Not for the lower .
But Rarely leak the upper oil pan.
AS first step I Recomend check the Valve cover gasket.
Check the Camsahft and Crank shaft seal for sings of leaking.
Clean the engine with deagreser and water and wait for the leak come.
DON"T trow water on Distributor And spark plug end wires.

Remember all The leaking in top of the engine will go down and some times look like the leak is the oil pan.

To examine this firstly buy some degreaser, clean the engine so the location of the leak can be pin pointed, take it to anothe mechanic for a second opinion {always the wiser move}, always into saving money. Good luck
