I just did a code scan on my 1992 Chevy Cavalier RS 6-cylinder and the codes that came back were 32 and 33. What do they mean?

DTC - 32 EGR system failure
DTC - 33 MAP sensor circuit error (signal high indicating low vacuum)

The EGR failure is causing the DTC 33 code to show up. Check the vacuum lines to the EGR valve.

Good luck and keep me posted

Chevy Cavalier 91 - Dashboard symbol "check" lite

Some fault code is stored in the PCM (computer); to know what is the problem, I suggest scanned the PCM with some scanner reader codes. Autozone or AutoShop with this tools sometimes make this for free.

Hope this helps.

Orange wrench light on my 01 Cavalier

It means you need to have your car scanned for A DTC code to service your engine soon. Auto Zone can scan your car free of charge for the DTC codes and can give you the instructions to what needs to be addressed that your car has issues with.
It cold be as simple as a bad gas cap or a bad O2 sensor, without the DTC codes we will not know what issues your car has that needs to be addressed.
Thank you for using fixya and be asfe.

The starter has no cylinders. it is an electric motor powered from the battery and ignition system.
The chevy cavalier has a 4 cylinder engine though.

The only way to unlock the radio is by using a scan tool. The scan tool sends the appropriate diagnostic message (relearn VIN) to reset the radio. Using a scan tool, select the radio VIN relearn procedure from the module replacement screen in Vehicle Control Systems
