The headlight on the pass. side works right. the drivers side when in low beem, the light is in high beem. when the light is on high beem the light is on low beem. this is a 2000 mercury sable

someone has switched the wiring harness sockets to the wrong bulbs or installed the bulbs in reverse. get in behind the headlight assembly on the driver side and reverse the wires, if that does not work then pull the bulbs and swap them inside to outside and vice versa.

Replace headlight

Open the hood, There will be some phillip head screws on the top of the headlight Assembly. After taking the screws out, the head light assembly will pull straight out. Replace bulb and replace assembly. Carefully to get the tabs on the assembly back into the slots when installing the assembly.

I have the same problem.

It's just stuck...stick a smooth butter knife in between and pry outward carefully and don't rip the gasket that's making it stick.

Head Lights

check the continuity of the headlights to make sure there switching from the DTR Lights to the highbeams. If you are not getting the proper continuity check the ground wire for the low beams to ensure its properly grounded and has proper continuity throughout the wire. If not replace the wire or tighten as required and that should fix your problem.

lemme know if you require further assistance,

thanks - Nate
