My brake lights have stopped working. The high light above the rear window works fine and the rear signal lights are ok, too. I have replaced the bulbs and ckecked the fuse. Could it be the switch on the pedal even though the high light still works?

Hello,
The rear turn signals are wired through the Multifunction switch also called the turn signal switch. The Hazard switch is in that switch also and thats the circuitry the brake lights go through. You need to confirm voltage at the White wire off of the brake light switch and if its ok you have a bad multifunction switch.

I hope this helps.

Jaguar xj6 break light cancels signal

Replace the turn signal switch. Bad contact inside causing a crossing of the circuits. When the turn signal is applied it should open the brake light circuit allowing for just the signal to work. Doesn't sound like the switch is doing it's job.

Brake lights will not work turn signal works fuse is ok

if no brake lights are working, not even the high stop light in the rear window,And you have checked the brake lights fuse with a test light,it will be time to check the stop light switch located on brake pedal under dash.

REAR BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ONLY TAP LIGHT IS

Check for power at the turn signal switch. White wire comes from brake switch switch into the turn signal switch. The brake light switch is working because the high mount brake light is working..right? Do the turn signals work ok? if so, then the wiring is OK. The brake signal wires that come out of the turn signal switch are dark green(right) and yellow (left).
