2001 sentra no communication with scan tool

USA only answers, I do not do non USA OBD2, ever.
the OBD2 port has a power pin 12vdc, and the fuse is blown
we replace the fuse
the hand tool has battery do not be fooled by said batttery.
the ODB2 port 16 pins total, and pin #16is power 12vdc,
some old (all) scan tools do not work on newer cars at all.
the secret here is missing pins on scan tool (wow).
1996 tools being the worst (have some too, have many tools)
The radio fuse is bad. (we always check fuses first)
no power no joy and no free energy,
the true wiring diagram is called a factory service manual.

You need a mobile mechanic with a $5,000 professional grade scan tool computer to diagnose the electronics. I suspect your replacement ECU are faulty and the communications or power to it. Look at the Scotty Kilmer YouTube channel and search scan tool. He uses them frequently and shows what they are capable of. He did a Nissan Altima within the last couple of days.

My friend's 2001 Hyundai sonata does this. I found out many issues with the car, most of the issues were censors. It was the main issue in the Hyundai... Try scanning the ecu for codes, it will tell you something.

Also called Sentra... Engine computer is located under the dash by the firewall. This is where the ecu is located on '01...

I would troubleshoot the wiring and all ground points to eliminate that. Then swap out the ECM to see if is defective.

Try the Suzuky Scan Tool. If that don't work you have a problem with the car (maybe in the ECU).
