The light will only turn off when the ABS system fault that caused the module to turn the light on is repaired, to do this u need to have the dealer test the system for fault codes, most likely one of the four wheel speed sensors will be defective.

I just brought my car to get inspected and one of the tires needed to be changed to get a sticker. The mechanic just so happened to have a tire that was the right size for my car (1996 honda prelude). Well, I looked at my car yesterday and noticed that my front passenger side is up higher the the driver's side. He put a little bigger tire on my passenger side! Okay, my point is all of this is, I've been driving with the ABS light on the entire time I've owned the car, but randomly it wasn't on this morning, and now i can hear the ABS System making all kinds of noises that I'm not use to. I can also feel it in my break pedal. I'm happy the ABS light is off now, but are the symptoms i'm experiencing now normal?

How do I turn off the ABS light on my 1996 Honda Prelude? Is it necessary to fix it as well?

HI. You may, temporairly, shutdown the code by pulling the negivtive battery cable for five to ten minutes. This will reset the cpu, but the light will illuminate again if the neccessry repairs are not applied to correct the issues with the ABS systme. The issue here will, more than likely, bewith one or all of the speed sensors that are located on each wheel axle assembly. These sensors work in unison to insure optimal operation during a skid, or hard breaking situation. In order to isolate the problem, you will need to have a diagnostic scan run on the on-board CPU system. Once the codes are pulled, the read-out will direct you to the actual location of the sensor, and the repairs needed. Once the repairs are made, the CPU ABS alert will be reset automatically.

My 1995 honda preludes emergency brake doenst work, when you pull it up it comes up easy and the break light does come on, also my ABS light is on and wont turn off

The parking brake problem could be rear brakes out of adjustment, a broken parking brake cable, or a parking brake cable in need of adjustment.

The ABS light mosy likely has nothing to do with your parking brake problem and will have to be diagnosed by first gathering the ABS fault codes from the ABS computer.

All electronic accessories work when key is in

test power at the starter's power wire. If there is voltage, replace starter. If there is no power, check fuses/relays, if those are fine, check ignition switch (there is a recall on this since 2002). Typical symtoms of ignition switch failure on these vehicles include: Some warning lights not lit when key is turned to ON (ABS, battery, check engine, oil light etc.), Intermitted hard start/No start, stalling while driving, intermitted guage failure. If it is an ignition switch failure, call your local honda dealer for possible free repair under the recall(have your VIN# at hand). hopefully this helps

ABS LIGHT STAYS ON

possibly the pump has packed up.if you still have brakes and they appear to work ok evan without power assistance then remove the bulb and hope its not picked up on the annual mechanical inspection when they do a brake test, other than that it will be fine and should save you being the golden egg layer.
