I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Originally blew only cold air no matter what the heat settings were at. Then blower stopped working. Discovered wires were corroded and replaced them as well installed heater treater for blend doors. Now blows only cold air! Ideas?

Either bad recirc doors or a possible bad heater core. Open the hood and when the car is warmed up to mid point on the temp gauge look on the passenger's side firewall under the hood. You will see 2 black rubber hoses running through the firewall. Feel each hose and if one of the 2 are cold then you have a bad heater core. Otherwise most likely the recirc door.

2001 jeep grand cherokee, heat and a/c do not bloww hot or cold air

Bernard,

HVAC failure
the car has 2 classes of HVAC< manual and ATC
the blower must blow on high.??? does it on high?
if not, check fuses, for blower. (if lower speeds only fail say so)
the blower is dead,
then say if dash controls are Manual or ATC<
atc = automatic temp, controls with a dash thermostat et cetra.

the diagnostic path is different.
the ATC has self test too. .with over 30 errors possible.

use comments to respond, not a new post. please.

2003 jeep grand cherokee heater problem

Jeep Grand Cherokee is notorious for broken blend-air doors. This is the door inside the A/C-heater housing that switches the air from hot to cold. You must remove the dash to repair it.

Heat/ac not working on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side

My blower resistor keeps going out, even after i buy a new one..

Hi,
As the circuit is through this resistor, and the main load is the blower motor, I think this is taking a higher current than normal to make it turn. You could simply fit a lower rating fuse to the circuit - as this is cheaper to replace, and check the fan to make sure it is easy to spin by hand. If not, try and oil the bearings as a last resort before replacing it.

My heater on my 3.1 td grand cherokee jeep has gone cold?

Something similar happened in my Jeep last winter...except mine was only the driver's side. The passenger side blew hot air when heater was on, but the driver's side blew cold air. The solution for me was to replace something called the 'blend air door'. It fixed the problem but cost me nearly $500.00. Hope this helps...

The blower doesn't work for heat/defrost

If you have Automatic Temperture Control then you will need a blower resistor module which could be around $100 to $200. If you have a manual temperture control then it can be just a simple $20 blower resistor.

2001 Grand Cherokee Limited a/c Blower Motor

Check on Ebay for Jeep Grand Cherokee Harness Kit. The plug on your harness may be melted like mine was. I bought this kit, followed the instructions in his ad and it worked great. All I had to do was cut off my old plug and solder this one on. Even the wire colors matched so there was no guessing.
