My honda accord is making a humming noise which has progressively been getting louder. It sounds like it is coming from the engine or definately somewhere in the front under the hood. It makes the noise as soon as I turn the car on and is louder when I make turns. Any ideas?

You'll need to find out where the noise is coming from first. Is it making the noise before you start driving the car ? Does it sound like its coming from the passenger side of the engine ? It could be the serpentine belt or something mechanical.
sounds like the wheels are out of balance, is there a slight vibration through the steering wheel at this speed? and does the problem stop if you go faster (please drive carefully)
If the sound follows vehicle speed and not the engine you could be hearing u joint noise from the Driveline also. Will get progressively louder with speed.
The symptoms match those of wheel bearings getting worn out. One sure way to determine it is not coming from the transmission is by taking the vehicle to a decent speed, say 35 MPH ,and put it in neutral. If the humming continues unchanged, then it comes from bearings, and if it drops, then it might come from transmission or engine. 135000 miles is way over the life expectancy of a set of bearings. If the bearings are starting to fail, they produce a high pitch sound, almost a whistle, and if they are almost gone, they produce a deep rumble. High speed turns might subdue the sound, or make it worse, depending on if you take weight of bearings, or increase it.
I suspect that one of your wheel bearing have worn out. SO to confirm please lift up one by one all the wheel and rotate. listen to any hum which corresponds to your noise. hold the wheel on either sides and check for any shake even a small one. if you detect a hum check the wheel bearings and the HUB, most cars have this assembly making the noise specially when the grease becomes dry or there had been water logging specially salty. If so change the bearings / hubs, when changing look out for any damage to the axle. I hope you get this right. Helpful? Good day.
sounds like your timing belt is a little to tight and the vibration from the belt is the humming you here loosen the belt but you may want to call the dealer for the spics on tightness of the belt . thx
this problem is famous in the hondas the axles and cvc ends are famous for the light noise that comes from the engine bay so change the axles both sides
most likely there is a mouse in the blower motor or a nest very common you would have to remove that. if that is the case i suggest putting bounce laundry sheets under your engine compartment and gurenteed to keep the mice away!! keep them away from extreme hot parts and belts.
